The world of television suffered a loss on Monday with the death of Dinesh Phadnis. The actor, who rose to fame for essaying the role of Fredricks a.k.a. Freddy in the popular crime series ‘CID’, passed away on Monday night in Mumbai after multi-organ failure.
The 57-year-old actor had been critical following liver damage and was admitted to Tunga hospital in Mumbai where he was placed on ventilator support. The cremation will take place later today.
The news of the actor’s demise was confirmed by his ‘CID’ co-star Dayanand Shetty. “Yes, it’s true he is no more. It happened around 12:08 am. I am at his residence right now. His last rites will be conducted today at the Daulat Nagar crematorium. Almost everyone from the CID is present right now,” the actor was quoted as saying to entertainment website ETimes.
Shetty also said that he was removed from the ventilator following complications arising due to multi-organ failure.
