Peter Haas, US Ambassador to Bangladesh, has left Dhaka for Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka.
Diplomatic sources confirmed that he left Dhaka on Thursday afternoon. Peter Haas left Dhaka on a flight that left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at BD time 1 pm.
The reason for the sudden departure of the US ambassador from Dhaka after the announcement of the schedule for the upcoming National Assembly elections is not yet known.
Multiple diplomatic sources have confirmed that he will travel to Washington DC via Colombo.
