Fazle Hossain Badsha, general secretary of the Workers’ Party, has collected the nomination before getting the final decision of the Awami League on the partners of the 14-party alliance. He will submit his nomination papers as a Workers Party candidate for Rajshahi-2 constituency to the Returning Officer in Rajshahi on Wednesday. A party source confirmed this information.
Fazle Hossain Badsha has been elected Member of Parliament from Rajshahi-2 Constituency for three consecutive times as a candidate of 14 parties. In the last election, Awami League did not nominate any candidate from their party in this seat. But this time they have given party nomination to relatively weak candidate Muhammad Ali Kamal. It is assumed that Fazle Hossain Badsha will be finalized as the candidate of this seat at the last stage.
When contacted to inquire about the matter, Fazle Hossain Badsha told Bangla Herald, “The time has not yet come to make a final statement about these matters. You will know when the time comes.”
