India always stands by Bangladesh: envoy

Prannoy Verma, the Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, commented that the way Dhaka-Delhi has moved forward by supporting each other, it will move forward in the same way.

He said, ‘Among the neighboring countries, India gives the highest priority to Bangladesh. Bangladesh-India will move forward in the same way as they have cooperated with each other. The friendship between the two countries will remain intact in the future as in 1971.

He made this comment during Shaheed Buddhijibi Diwas (martyred intellectuals day) discussion titled “Meet the Society” organized by Sampriti Bangladesh at Banani in the capital on Thursday (December 14) morning. At this time, he paid deep respect to the memory of the martyred intellectuals.

In the event, among the others Sampriti Bangladesh convener Piyush Banerjee, Shahidjaya Shyamoli Nasrin, educationist Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, Major General (ret.) Muhammad Ali Shikder delivered their speeches.
