Bangabandhu biopic ‘Mujib: The making of a Nation’ gets censor certificate

The biopic of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman titled ‘Mujib: The making of a Nation’ has received censor certificate.

According to a press release, Bangladesh Film Censor Board (BFCB) members issued the certificate after watching a screening of the film on Monday.

Directed by Shyam Benegal of India, the movie has been adapted in Bengali under the supervision of Asaduzzaman Noor from the English screenplay of Atul Tiwari and Shama Jayedi. The historical movie features over a hundred Bangladeshi artists among 150 characters in total.
The shooting of this biopic, made at the cost of 60% of Bangladesh and 40% of India, started on January 22, 2021 in Mumbai Film City, India and ended on December 18 in Bangladesh.

Last year, the first poster of the film was released on March 17, 2022 on Bangabandhu’s birth anniversary, the second poster on May 3 and the trailer of the film was released at the Cannes Film Festival in France on May 19.
