Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi on Monday said the country has earned over Taka 4lakh 13 thousand and 390 crore as foreign currency by exporting various products in the current 2022-23 fiscal.
“The country has earned foreign currency worth of Taka 4,13,390.05 crore by exporting neat ware oven, readymade garment, home textile, foot wares , frozen food, Jute and Jute goods, leather and leather goods during July to April period in the current 2022-23 fiscal”, said the minister.
The minister revealed this while responding to a star-mark question made by treasury bench lawmaker Nurunnabi Chowdhury of Bhola-3 at the question-answer session which was tabled at the Jatiya Sangsad.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury was in the chair.
Elaborating the country’s export earnings, the minister said over Taka 2 lakh, Six thousand 91 crore has been earned from neat ware cloths, Taka 17 lakh 30 thousand 863 crore from oven cloths, Taka 9,247.12 crore earned from home textile,
Bangladesh earned Taka 3,844.12 crore from exporting foot ware, Taka 3,651.28
crore has come from frozen food export, Taka 7,576.39 crore from Jute and
Jute goods and Taka 9,892.79 crore has come from leather and Leather goods.
