IGP for smart policing to combat challenges of global crimes

by tbhdesk

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has underscored the need for smart policing to combat the challenges of global crimes.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of a daylong workshop titled Curriculum Development of Smart Policing at Police Staff College Bangladesh in Mirpur of the capital on Tuesday.

The IGP said that militancy, transnational organised crimes and new types of crimes have become a threat in the era of globalisation. So, police must be technology-based smart instead of following the old systems.
Rector of the staff college Dr Mallick Faqrul Islam chaired the workshop while senior police officers were present on the occasion.
