BNP tried to seize power by creating fake voter list in 2006: Joy

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s ICT Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy today said BNP-Jamaat tried to seize power by creating fake voter list in 2006.

“From 2001 to 2006, the BNP-Jamaat alliance made people’s lives miserable by carrying out indescribable torture, rape, murder, arson on people all spheres and making corruption,” he wrote in a facebook post on Monday accompanied by a visual report.

He wrote even during their five-year rule, Bangladesh became the world champion in corruption five times.

As a result, a strong feeling of hatred towards the forces of Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman was created in the public mind, he mentioned.

The narrator of the visual report mentioned that BNP-Jamaat leaders became afraid of holding polls in democratic process again.

With their evil efforts, they prepared a list of 1.23 crore fake voters and appointed own party ‘cadres’ as election officer in every upazila, he said.

Khaleda Zia’s government stigmatized the Public Service Commission and recruitment system in government job by making this recruitment directly through preparing a list only without any examination, the narrator said.

“Recruitment of 300 cadres of Chhatra Dal as election officers by ruining the constitutional body had huge repercussions across the country,” he said.
