Russia has claimed that Peter Haas, the pro-active US ambassador in Dhaka was planning an anti government rally in Bangladesh. Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson of Russian foreign ministry, has shared the claim in the official X (formerly known as Twitter) handle on Wednesday.
She claims, ‘At the end of October, US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas met with a member of the local opposition to discuss plans for organising anti-government rallies.’
‘Such actions amount to nothing less than gross interference in internal affairs,’ She added.
There is a photo card attached with the Tweet with a quote of Maria Zakharova as she says, ‘We have repeatedly highlighted the attempts by the US and its allies are influencing the internal political process of Bangladesh under the guise of ensuring that elections in Bangladesh are ‘transparent and inclusive’.
