EC to transfer OCs of all police stations

The Election Commission (EC) has decided to transfer the Officer-in-charge (OCs) of all the police stations in order to conduct the 12th parliamentary elections smoothly.

The Election Commission has sent a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs with instructions in this regard on Thursday.

The letter, signed by Deputy Secretary of EC Secretariat Md. Mizanur Rahman, was sent to the Senior Secretary of Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

In the letter, it was said that EC has taken a decision to transfer the Officers-in-Charge (OCs) of all police stations in phases to conduct the upcoming parliamentary elections smoothly.

For this purpose, OCs of police stations, who have completed more than six months in service in their current workplaces, should be transferred to another district/elsewhere in the first stage.

According to the letter, it is necessary to send the proposal of transfer in this regard to the Election Commission by December 5.

It also requested the ministry to take necessary action to this end.
