AL likely to share 5 seats for 14 party partners

Awami League (AL) has finalized the preparations to leave 5 seats for the partners of the 14-party alliance. However, the partner parties have offered to give up at least 5 more seats. Several top leaders of 14 parties have confirmed this to Bangla Herald.

To finalize the matter, the leaders of the parties to held a meeting at the residence of Amir Hossain Amu, coordinator of the 14-party alliance, on Tuesday afternoon. Sources said that a detailed discussion will be held in this meeting.

According to the sources, the Awami League is preparing to leave the five seats for the partner 14 parties, one of them is Kushtia-2. Jasd president Hasanul Haque Inu will contest in this seat. Although Awami League has not given any candidate for this seat. This time Workers Party president Rashed Khan Menon will contest from Barisal-2 or Barisal-3 seat and Awami League will leave the seat in which he wants to contest. The Pirojpur-2 seat will be left for Anwar Hossain Manju and one seat in Chittagong will be left for Syed Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari. He is the leader of Tariqat Federation. Out of this, the fifth seat is Rajshahi-2. There, Workers Party General Secretary Fazle Hossain Badsha will be the candidate of 14 parties.
