This new train is likely to start its operation from Chittagong to Cox’s Bazar in early February.

Railway officials have started preparations for this purpose.

This time an initiative has been taken to run a pair of new trains from Chittagong to Cox’s Bazar. The train will take passengers from all the stations in between Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar, said the official.

The exact date has not been fixed yet, he said.

Director of Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar Rail Project Md Subaktagin said that a total of nine new railway stations are being constructed from Dohazari to Cox’s Bazar.

“Their work is at the final stage. If the train starts from February 1, then the activities can be carried out at the stations.”

The first-ever intercity train between Dhaka and Cox’s Bazar, the Cox’s Bazar Express, started operation on December 1.

The second intercity train Parjatak Express train operating on the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar-Dhaka route began its services from January 10.
