Nanak urges all to use jute bags instead of polythene

Textiles and Jute Minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak today urged all to use jute-made bags instead of polythene to protect the environment.

“Polythene traders are creating obstacles to the use of jute bags, he told journalists after visiting the Sonali Bags Production Factory of eminent scientist Dr. Mubarak Ahmad Khan in Demra.

Nanak said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is helping Mubarak Ahmad Khan with creative innovation, and the government is making a project for almost Taka 100 crore for making jute bags.

Textiles and Jute Secretary Md. Abdur Rouf and BJMC Chairman Faruque Ahmed, among others, were present.
