Bangladesh Chhatra League activists held a rally on the Dhaka University campus protesting the arrest of students involved in anti-Israel activities in the United States.
The rally began at 11am on Monday (May 6) with students gathering on the campus.
Slogans such as “We dream of a terror-free Palestine. “Demolish Israel,” rocked the campus.
The march started from VC Chattar with students joining it from other educational institutions and Chhatra League members from across the capital, along with Dhaka University students.
The rally paraded the entire campus before converging at the Anti-Terrorism Raju Memorial Sculpture.
During the rally, the participants condemned the ongoing brutalities in Gaza and expressed solidarity with the affected people.
Recent arrests of numerous students at various universities across the US, particularly following Columbia University’s crackdown on pro-Palestinian protesters occupying its campus lawn, prompted widespread demonstrations and encampments at other colleges and universities nationwide.
