The health authorities recorded 13 more deaths of mosquito-borne dengue fever and 1,673 related cases from across the country in the last 24 hours till 8 a.m. on Friday.
The latest figure for this year’s death and caseload stood at 1,148 and 2,35,204 respectively as of today, said a handout of the Directorate General of Health Service (DGHS) this evening.
On September 20, Bangladesh witnessed 21 dengue deaths, the highest in a single day this year, and the nation also saw the same highest figure on September 2.
During the period, 478 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city while 1,195 were admitted to different hospitals outside the capital city.
“A total of 8,248 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals. Of them, 2,538 are in Dhaka while 5,710 are outside of the capital city.
